SENIOR SECRETARY
Natalie Wong
flute
grade 12 wind symphony

Natalie is a flautist in the Grade 12 Wind Symphony, and she got her start in music at age 7 when she was convinced to play the flute after seeing it at a music fair. Unfortunately, she was given a plastic flute (no, not a recorder, she insists—look up the Nuvo flute if you’re curious 😤) for three years before upgrading to the real deal, and the rest is history ✨
When she’s not in rehearsals or organising all things music council-related, you can find Natalie practising and listening to rep pieces since she’s a self-proclaimed “responsible and dedicated music student” 👀 or baking up a storm (slide in her DM if you have any recipe recommendation!👩🍳) She’s also (still) an encyclopedia enthusiast (yes, you heard that right 😟) and has a soft spot for jazz, especially Chet Baker! 🎶
Her motto? “Don’t try too hard, just try your best”🔥💪🏻
JUNIOR SECRETARY
Hayley Chong
clarinet
grade 10 symphonic band

Hayley is part of the Grade 10 Symphonic Band, where she plays the clarinet 🎶—a choice she made pretty randomly, but she’s glad she did (except for the occasional struggles with those pricey and unpredictable reeds 😬). Other than the clarinet, Hayley also plays the piano outside of the band 🎹 (although that one was more of a “forced suggestion” than a personal decision).
Outside of music, Hayley’s all about eating (she’s always on the lookout for new restaurants and recipes) and watching K-dramas. 🍜📺 She loves shows full of plot twists — but don’t expect her to dive in without first checking if the ending will break her heart (got to be mentally prepared!)
A piece of advice from her? “Don’t get your swab stuck in the instrument” 🫣
SENIOR TREASURER
Joseph Luk
flute
grade 12 wind symphony

Joseph is part of the Grade 12 Wind Symphony, where he plays the flute—an instrument he was assigned back in grade 5, with a promise to stick with it until Uni... and somehow, he actually did! 🎶🙌
When he’s working dealing with music sweaters (totally not an advertisement 👀), Joseph is all about anime 📺 and J-pop 🎧. If you’re into J-pop too, he’s got you covered—he listens to pretty much EVERYTHING in the genre, so feel free to swap playlists and get into some J-pop discussions! 🎤🎶
Joseph’s motto? “To be (present) or not to be (present),”—words of wisdom from Joseph at 6:30 AM on a morning rep day 😔
SENIOR TREASURER
Jasmine Chan
trumpet
grade 12 wind symphony

Jasmine is part of the Grade 12 Wind Symphony, where she plays the trumpet 🎺. She chose it because it only has three keys—simple, right? (Spoiler alert: It’s not as easy as it looks).
When she’s not practising (because that’s every music student’s favourite hobby 🤥), you can find her cooking or baking —she’s got some serious kitchen skills! She also loves getting outside for skiing ⛷️ or just taking a peaceful stroll around the neighbourhood 🌳🚶♀️
Her motto? “Your hard work will pay off in the long run, so don’t give up! And if all else fails, remember: ‘Grade 12 is better the second time’ — Mr. Colley’s words of wisdom!” 😂💪
JUNIOR TREASURER
Jerry Chen
tenor sax
grade 11 wind symphony

Jerry plays the tenor sax in the Grade 11 Wind Symphony, his musical journey started when there were too many alto saxes in the section and was put to tenor sax by Ms. Fabbro. He’s been trying to switch to trumpet ever since, but so far, no luck! 🎷😔
When he’s not playing the sax, Jerry’s into piano 🎹, guitar 🎸, and rock climbing 🧗♂️. He also admits to spending way too much time scrolling through reels and wasting time (we’ve all been there 😔), then scrambling to finish assignments at the last minute. His favourite genre? Classical 🎶 (because it helps him power through math homework 🔥)
His words of wisdom: “Don’t scroll and do work” 🫡
SENIOR PUBLICITY
Thieyana Ramanan
bassoon
grade 12 wind symphony

Thieyana is part of the Grade 12 Wind Symphony, where she plays the bassoon—a ✨unique✨ instrument she chose because of its rich sound. She loves playing the low Bb just to scare people (watch out because it sounds light a boat horn! 😱)
When she’s not making music or cooking with the posts for our Instagram, Thieyana is in the kitchen, cooking up a scrumptious meal 👀🍳. So if you ever need a snack or want to talk food, she’s the one to chat with!
SENIOR PUBLICITY
Scarlett Ho
flute
grade 12 wind symphony

Scarlett is part of the Grade 12 Wind Symphony, where she plays the flute—an instrument she picked up in grade 6 (because no mouthpiece = easy choice). After six years of practice, she can now proudly say that she mastered the B-flat concert scale 🔥
Other than creating all the fantastic posts for our Instagram, Scarlett is also a guitar player, singer, and an amazing artist! She’s planning to major in computer science 👩💻, so she’s got brains AND creativity covered!
In her free time, you can find Scarlett hanging with her family and friends, or playing fetch with her dog! Her motto? “To always try your best! Even though you sometimes fail, you’ll know you tried and that’s all that matters!”
SENIOR WEBMASTER
Tod Chen
trumpet
grade 12 wind symphony

Beyond managing our online presence, Tod blows the roof off with his trumpet in the Grade 12 Wind Symphony—aka his “weapon of mass destruction” 🔥🎺. He chose the trumpet because of his idol Mr. Colley (seriously, he’s the #1 fan, go check his laptop wallpaper 😬)
When he’s not behind the scenes of our website, you can find Tod indulging in his favourite hobby… MATH (you know his stereotype 😦), sinking hours into Black Myth: Wukong (his personal game of the year! 🎮), or blasting G.E.M Deng Ziqi on repeat (she’s his all-time fav singer 🎤)
His motto? “Don’t be right, be yourself” 🫡
SENIOR WEBMASTER
Eliz Li
french horn
grade 12 wind symphony

Eliz is part of the Grade 12 Wind Symphony, and she plays the French horn 📯. Fun fact: she didn’t choose the horn—she was voluntold! Back in Grade 9, Mr. Hindel looked at her and said, “You look like a French horn player,” and just like that, she fell in love with it ever since! 🤭
When she’s not making sure our website doesn’t crash every time you try to click a link, you can find Eliz falling down YouTube rabbit holes 📺—hour-long video essays, video game reviews, you name it! She’s also an art market enthusiast (her wallet is a little less of a fan though💸). Eliz loves being outdoors too, whether it’s hiking 🥾, walking 🌳, or just soaking up the fresh air—she’s all about nature✨. Her music taste? Indie/indie pop all the way 🎶
A word of inspiration from her: “Wouldn’t the world be better if we took nonsense more seriously? (if you got that reference you are so cool <3). Many great ideas and conversations began as nonsense— until someone bold enough made them real. So embrace the silly, chase the absurd, and laugh a little louder !! The world doesn’t just need dreamers, it needs daydreamers with a sense of humour. Because sometimes, the most nonsensical things hold the most truth✨ “
JUNIOR WEBMASTER
Darren Kwok
violin
string orchestra

Darren plays the violin 🎻 in the String Orchestra and has been playing since he was 5 🤯(shout out to his sister for getting him into it!)
Outside of music, Darren’s all about football ⚽ (the real kind with kicking 😤). He loves the teamwork and excitement that comes with the game, and you’ll often catch him kicking around on the field with friends 🙌🏻When it comes to music, Darren’s taste leans toward classical and pop! 🎼 He also loves telling dad jokes (he says it’s terrible 😔).
SENIOR EDITOR
Joey Dai
alto sax
grade 12 wind symphony

Joey is an alto saxophonist in the Grade 12 Wind Symphony 🎷, and she has been in band ever since elementary school. The alto sax immediately caught her eye, and she loved the way it sounded 🎶
When she’s not busy typing up our event recaps or grinding out bio, Joey loves snowboarding ⛷️ (though she wishes she had more time for it🥲), and she’s also a swimmer 🏊♀️(which she has a love-hate relationship with). She’s all about K-pop 🎤—so if you’re ever looking for someone to talk about your favourite groups or discuss the latest K-pop hits with, Joey’s your go-to!
SENIOR EDITOR
Kailey Wong
flute and piccolo
grade 12 wind symphony

Kailey is part of the Grade 12 Wind Symphony, where she plays both the flute and piccolo! She picked up the flute in grade 4 because she loved the way it sounded and she’s been playing ever since! While she never really chose the piccolo, she’s playing it anyways (she’s blasting her ears off, but it’s ok 🫡)
When she’s not making music or stressing about school, Kailey is probably baking or watching a K-drama. Though she can be busy with school, she never misses a chance to binge watch a great show 📺. She’s also a big fan of K-pop 🎧, so she’s your go-to if you’re looking for song recs (or want to give some to her)!
JUNIOR EDITOR
Hannah Cheng
flute
grade 10 symphonic winds

Hannah plays the flute in the Grade 10 Symphonic Band and chose it because it’s a standout instrument that can both shine solo and blend perfectly with the group 😌🎵
Outside of Hannah’s passion for music, you’ll find her exploring new restaurants 🍽️, baking her favourite foods (especially sourdough bread! 🍞), or immersing herself in a favourite movie 🎬!
